Our licensing policy is simple and affordable to many personal and business users. In this article, we will explain the terms and conditions our home users, organizations and resellers should adhere to when acquiring or using our software.
The policy applies to both SyncBackPro and SyncBackSE.
2BrightSparks offers three editions of SyncBack for your data backup needs – SyncBackPro, SyncBackSE and SyncBackFree.
SyncBackPro and SyncBackSE are commercial licensed products that come with a 30-day evaluation period, after which a licensed serial key is needed to continue its usage.
SyncBackFree: 100% free backup solution for commercial and personal use.
SyncBackSE: An advanced backup solution for personal and business users. It offers powerful features to backup, sync and restore your data to internal, external, network drive, FTP/FTPS servers, SyncBack Touch and MTP.
SyncBackPro: An enhanced backup solution for personal and business users. SyncBackPro includes all SyncBackSE features and supports backup to several cloud services, SFTP and backup of emails. It also provides advanced features such as scripting, Integrity Check, Smart Memory Management, Drive Failure Detection, SBMS and much more.

With perpetual licensing, a customer pays a one-time fee to purchase a license and uses it indefinitely. In the future, if a new major version is released, the customer pays an additional upgrade fee to receive the new version. They are, of course, free to continue using the version they purchased if they do not wish to upgrade.
In the subscription licensing model, a customer pays a subscription cost (which is less than a perpetual license), renews it annually (or monthly depending on the subscription terms), and uses it until their subscription is active. A software subscription includes the software, all product updates and technical support.
All 2BrightSparks software licenses are perpetual licenses and will last indefinitely for the version you purchased. Customers who purchased our software are entitled to 3 months of free basic support starting from the date of purchase. All minor updates (e.g., upgrade from version 220.127.116.11 to 18.104.22.168) are free. When a new major version is released, customers can either purchase an upgrade license or continue using their existing license indefinitely. Technical support and updates are not available for outdated versions.
We also offer an annual subscription plan called Upgrade Assurance as an optional purchase. Subscribed customers will get upgrades to major version releases for free as well as extended priority support via our support ticketing system.
To enjoy the benefits of both perpetual and subscription models, you can purchase a license of SyncBackPro/SE plus an Upgrade Assurance subscription to get all software updates and priority technical support.
We have adopted a generous licensing policy for our home or personal users. Home users can purchase either SyncBackPro or SyncBackSE to back up their personal data.
A single license of SyncBackPro or SyncBackSE can be used on up to 5 devices to process personal data (home use only). A device is a computer, external drive, or a virtual machine. If more are required, you can purchase additional SyncBackPro/SE licenses to backup other devices at home.
The license is transferable from one computer to another, however, you need to ensure that the program is not installed on more than the number of devices for which the number of licenses has been purchased. When upgrading, the number of upgrade licenses must not exceed the total number of previous licenses purchased.
Both SyncBackPro and SyncBackSE can be used in a workplace environment to process business data. When using SyncBack to process work-related data, a separate license must be purchased for each installation of the program.
The license is transferable from one computer to another. When upgrading, the number of upgrade licenses must not exceed the total number of previous licenses purchased.

Volume licensing allows you to purchase multiple SyncBackPro/SE licenses at a discounted price. Home users or businesses planning to purchase 2 or more licenses qualify for volume licensing. For volume discounts, please visit our CVL licensing page.
One serial number is provided for each order including volume orders. You have the right to make copies of the software up to the number of licenses you purchased.
The Enterprise License allows organizations to buy SyncBackPro/SE licenses at the best possible price. An Enterprise License covers all computers and devices in an organization and allows unlimited use of the software throughout the organization. Software purchased under the enterprise pricing are for use by users within a single organization. Organizations that need 1000 or more licenses qualify for Enterprise License. We offer a 30% reseller discount for reselling SyncBackPro/SE to your customers. Resellers can get NFR licenses for internal testing, to review our software and recommend it to your customers. NFR licenses are for internal use only and not for actual use in your business or for resale.
Reseller are invited to join our affiliate program to receive a 30% commission for every successful sale purchased using affiliate tracking links. All sales commission will be held for 30 days from the date of the transaction. The commission will then be released as payment on the 15th of each month.
Resellers must purchase separate licenses for each customer or invite each customer to buy through their affiliate link. Resellers may not buy a large volume of licenses to distribute to many of their clients. Also note that one serial number is provided for each order including volume orders.
2BrightSparks offers special discounts for educational institutions (e.g. schools, universities, etc.) and non-profit organizations (e.g. charities) to encourage them to use an affordable backup solution for their backup needs. Eligible educational and non-profit organizations are entitled to a 15% ENP discount off the listed price. Organizations may combine the ENP discount with the volume discounts offered by 2BrightSparks.

Our software is covered by a 30-day warranty and technical support. If the product does not perform according to our documentation and our website claims, we will refund your money upon your representation that all copies of the product have been removed from your computers.
The 2BrightSparks licensing policy protects our copyrighted software from fraudulent activities, ensures the software is used legally and maximizes our revenue.
