News

Greetings! In this email we're announcing an update to SyncBack, provide details about some of the many new features that were introduced in SyncBack V11, and tell you about Group Queues.

SyncBack V11 has been updated to V11.3.7.0. This version includes a number of fixes and improvements, one of which is making it easier to restore profiles from backups. Visit our downloads page to get the latest version and see our changes page for details.

V11 Features

SyncBack V11 includes many feature suggestions and change requests. One feature we improved was shared settings. Shared settings were introduced way back in February 2009 with  V5.3.0.18. Shared settings let you create some settings, e.g. FTP connection settings, that can be shared amongst one or more profiles. With V11 you can now list, create, modify and delete all your shared settings in one place ( -> Shared Settings).

V11 includes numerous other small improvements that you may not have noticed. For example, in Global Settings you can re-arrange the order of the tabs on the left using drag & drop. The order is saved.

Windows administrators will be familiar with Windows Group Policies. With SyncBackPro V11 we include ADMX and ADML files (see the ADMX sub-directory where SyncBackPro is installed) which can be used to restrict what users can do with SyncBackPro. In the current version, only security settings are defined in the group policy, not defaults. If you have suggestions for defaults, or security settings, please contact us.

SyncBackPro V11 also includes cloud improvements such as support for Cloudflare R2 (an inexpensive S3 compatible service) and adding support for server-side encryption with customer-provided keys (SSE-C) with Backblaze B2 and OVH (in S3 mode).

These are just some examples of changes introduced in V11. Visit our V11 page to see the many other improvements made in V11.

Group Queues

In SyncBack, a group, queue or group queue refers to a set of profiles executed in a pre-defined order. SyncBack V11 introduced the Group Queue, which combines the functionalities of both a group and a queue. Through the Group Queue feature, a profile can be added to a queue multiple times, offering enhanced flexibility. Furthermore, it provides the ability to assign a specific action to each profile in the group queue, such as running in simulation mode, initiating a rescan, or performing an integrity check on your files. Read our Group Queues article for more information.
