SyncBackSE/Pro supports copying open/locked files from source to destination, but it would require SyncBack to be installed on the same PC system where the open/locked files are stored and VSS to be working on your PC. Please refer to this KB article for more details:
SyncBack also supports uploading files as compressed and encrypted to an FTP server, which you can enable under:
Modify > Expert > Compression and Encryption setting pages
Two types of compression are supported - 'single-zip' compression (where all files are compressed into a single zip file) and 'multi-zip' compression (where each file is compressed into its own zip file). However, when backing-up files to remote FTP, cloud, SyncBack Touch we recommend using multi-zip compression, as the single zip file on the remote side is always replaced but not updated in each run (simply deleted and recreated), which will be very slow process, hence we suggest using multi-zip compression if your destination is an FTP server.
In addition, please note that the version of SyncBackSE you are using is outdated. Therefore, I suggest testing with either SyncBackSE/Pro V8 to see if it works? If you do not own a copy of SyncBackPro/SE and wish to test its functions, you are welcome to try our fully functional SyncBack, which we offer a free 30-day evaluation.
If you do decide to purchase, the serial number will convert the 'trial' to the 'registered' version.
