Which cloud storage?

Post by m0n5ter »

I have been using SBP and MS OneDrive for Business for a few years, but MS policies and features are now causing me problems. Specifically the 5000 file limit on viewing and managing folders, and their automatic versioning which I cannot turn off. My backups are only in the region of 200GB, but I’m over quota at >1TB due to MS Versioning.

So, is there a cloud backup provider that anyone would recommend?

I’d like about 1TB. I transfer about 1GB per day. I hardly ever download the files as I have onsite backup too. I don’t need versioning. I need to it be compatible and work well with SBP v8 or the upcoming v9.

Thanks

Simon

Hi, personally I use Amazon S3 for my backups. V9 will support parallel file transfers with S3, so it will be very fast. Also, it's likely you'll be able to create an S3 bucket on a server that physically close to your location, so that will also help with performance.
