Synchronisation of a NTFS volume using EFS encryption for certain folders

SyncBackFree is the freeware version of SyncBack. It is *not* an evaluation version of SyncBackPro/SE/Lite.

Synchronisation of a NTFS volume using EFS encryption for certain folders

Post by bejj » Thu Aug 31, 2017 5:20 pm

I have synced:

* D:\Documents\, where D is a NTFS volume using EFS encryption (Win7) for certain folders (e.g. D:\Documents\Private\)

to

* H:\Documents\, where H is a NTFS volume too

On the destination, I noticed that some files are encrypted, but not all, it seems quite random: some files in D:\Documents\Private\ are encrypted (they are displayed with green filename in the explorer), some are not.

How does SyncBack work with NTFS volumes using EFS encryption for certain folders?

Erratum: some files in (desintation) H:\Documents\Private\ are encrypted (they are displayed with green filename in the explorer), some are not.

I don't see an Edit option on the forum (maybe my reputation is too low?).

This seems to be the solution:
