Google Drive upload speed is very slow

Post by lotekjunky »

For some reason, the forum software thinks that "google" and "drive" and "slow" are too common of words to search for, so it returns 0 results and is forcing me to make a new thread for something that may very well have been answered somewhere else but is memory holed.

I have pro v7.9.0.0 installed. I have a couple of profiles set to backup media to Google drive. It is SLOW! Like, 300k slow. My upload speed is 30mb. This upload of 300gb has taken 4 days (I just noticed it was still running). What's the deal? Is it always this slow (I've never tried it out before). I know I had a very similar situation with Amazon Cloud Drive which made me cancel that service. If speeds of < 1mbps were common, I'd think I'd see it all over the place as people were complaining about it, but I don't really see anyone else talking about it.

Can someone help?

So no other people are having this problem? I tested it this weekend on my laptop over a cellular connection and it maxed out exactly the same. Uploads to dropbox scream by at 20MB/S. G drive takes 50 years to upload a text file.

This is the response I got when I opened a support ticket:

Unfortunately, technical support and updates for Pro/SE V7 is officially ended on December 1st 2017. Support through this ticketing channel is only available for SyncBackPro/SE V8 users. You can refer to our support policy here:https://help.2brightsparks.com/support/ ... 00335580If you wish you can evaluate with Pro V8 version to see if it helps? If you do not own a copy of SyncBackPro V8 and wish to test it's functions, you are welcome to try our fully functional SyncBack, which we offer a free 30-day evaluation.
When uploading large amount of data (300 GB) to Google Drive, we recommend using SyncBackPro 64-bit version to avoid out-of-memory errors. Please read this article for additional details:

https://help.2brightsparks.com/support/ ... 3000336180

This article provides steps to switch to 64-bit version from 32-bit version:

https://help.2brightsparks.com/a/soluti ... 3000336212

You can download SyncBackPro 64-bit version from here:https://www.2brightsparks.com/assets/so ... etup.exeIf you wish to upgrade to SyncBackPro V8 please visit the 2BrightSparks Upgrade Store where you will need to enter your serial number into the text field and click on "Check" button:www.2brightsparks.com/store/upgradestore.phpAnd, follow the onscreen prompts to pay for your upgrade. Do not try to manually enter the serial as mistakes can easily occur. Although we recommend customers to upgrade, it is an optional choice and you can choose to remain with V7 indefinitely. However, please note that technical support for SyncBackSE/Pro Version 7 and earlier has officially ceased and ticketing support is only available for current SE/Pro version users.
