Feature Request: Adding multiple files on Ransomware Detection

Postby Ragno » Thu Jul 06, 2017 10:54 pm

Hello,

The new Ransomware Detection system works great! but would be very interesting if it had an option to add more files instead of just one.

Current now, if I choose just one file on server A and the ransonware gets into the Server E and supposing that SyncBack does every hour backups of server A,B,C,D and E, the encrypted files of server E are accepted as valid files because the file hash on server A is intact, right?

Now, let's suppose we have 5 different files distributed among 5 file servers that SyncBack connects to do backup each hour, and If server E be contaminated by a Ranson and it spreads to server D. In this case all the backup chain would be protected, because SyncBack now knows that the hash was modified on server D or E.

Thanks

Hi,

Your suggestion is already in our to-do-list. As our to-do list is a long list we can't provide any ETA on when this will be implemented.

Thank you.

Hello

Please see my post regarding to this issue.

Rango suggest "multiple files"

I suggest that it should be a job feature, and each job will scan a file in the it's source folder.
