(55): The specified network resource or device is no longer available

This is a Windows error message usually given when there are problems with the network or network adapter. The following Microsoft KB article has more information:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325487

USB

If you get this device when using an external USB drive, this article may help.

eSATA

One user reported getting this error with an eSATA device in a docking station. It seems to have been related to a bespoke AHCI driver used in/by a recently-installed storage manager (in that particular case, Intel Matrix Storage Manager software, but others may exhibit the same behavior). Once that software was uninstalled, the problem was resolved. This information is provided on an 'as is' basis, without prejudice, as we have not tested nor replicated here.

Applies To

SyncBackPro, SyncBackSE, SyncBackFree
