Q: Why isn’t my serial number working?
Using an old version
Check to make sure you are using the very latest version of SyncBackSE, SyncBackPro, or the OnClick Utilities.
Install over your current version. Do not uninstall first.
Wrong product
Are you trying to use a SyncBackPro serial number with SyncBackSE? If you purchased an upgrade from SyncBackSE to SyncBackPro then you need both your original SyncBackSE serial number and your SyncBackPro upgrade serial number.
Computers current date & time is wrong
If the date & time on your computer is incorrect then your serial number may be rejected. Please make sure that at least the date is correct.
Serial Number Input Immediately Following a Software Update
There is one uncommon circumstance that can result in the temporary failure of a serial number.
When we update our software, there is about a 15 to 20 minute propagation period for Web Store order information to reach all of our Web Store servers. If you attempt to enter your serial number in order to activate your program before this time period has passed, you may get an error. In this situation, simply waiting a few minutes and then trying again will usually solve the problem.
Entering Serial Number
Copy and paste your serial number into the text field to the right of the key symbol on the evaluation screen that opens when starting the program, then click OK.
Copying and pasting is the best way to make sure you are entering the correct serial number.
For those who are unsure how to quickly copy and paste here is how:
1. Select the serial number by dragging your mouse over it (highlight the whole serial number).
2. To copy, hold down both the Ctrl and C keys on the computer keyboard.
3. Click your mouse pointer into the text field to the right of the key symbol on the evaluation screen that opens when starting SyncBackSE.
4. Paste by holding down the Ctrl and V keys (SyncBackSE/Pro may do this for you depending on when you try to enter the serial number).
All versions of SyncBackSE, SyncBackPro, and SyncBack freeware can be safely installed over an existing installation. By doing this, you will ensure any profiles you have created continue to be active.
Please be aware that uninstalling will delete your profiles and settings.
