Q: Where are my profiles settings stored?
To make a backup of your profile use the Profiles > Export Profile menu item. With SyncBackSE/Pro you can also export profiles using the -export command line parameter (see the help file for details). SyncBackSE/Pro can also be configured to automatically backup all your profiles on exit (select Preferences > Options from the main menu, go to the Expert tab, and configure as appropriate).
This article has more details on backing up your profiles.
Profile settings are stored in files (the registry is not used). Those files are by default stored in the users private local Application Data folder. This is typically (for pre-Vista versions of Windows)
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\2BrightSparks\SyncBack
or (for Vista and later)
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\2BrightSparks\SyncBack
(In all cases, adjust the final folder to \SyncBackPro if using the Pro version)
It is optionally possible to switch this storage to a common/shared location - namely the same folder as the SyncBackSE/Pro executable - this article has details. It is not possible to nominate any other locations. If contemplating switching profile storage, you should note that all profiles store Last Run (etcetera) details inside themselves, and are thus re-written to the storage location each run (also, during normal Modification). It is thus a requirement if using this storage location that all users need write access to this folder, which they may not have by default. Profiles can optionally be password-protected against being Modified or Deleted if you wish (Modify > Expert > Misc. section), but write access is still require to store Last Run info, etcetera.
SyncBack V3 freeware
Profile settings are stored in the registry and files. The files are in the same directory that SyncBack V3 freeware is installed to. The registry location is:
