Still slogging away...
We haven't posted much recently on the development progress of SyncBackPro, so I'll just say this: argh!
To say there's an absolutely immense of work to do would be a major understatement.
Nearly all the effort is going into integrating the database. The database is used extensively throughout so there are many, many things to change. It would now be fair to say that SyncBackPro is very different from SyncBack. Most of the code has changed, and the ways things are done is also very different.
When will a beta version be available? I honestly don't know. At present there is no user interface (well, there's no main user interface or profile setup). It's being tested by using a test harness program so each part can be tested and used bit-by-bit, and profiles are created by editing the INI settings files. Checks are made by looking at the data in the database. So no beta for a while yet.
The thing keeping me awake at night is the fear of losing something that's already in SyncBack, e.g. a bug fix, a feature, etc. We don't want to miss something out that's already in the freeware version. The other issue is obviously bugs. It's far too early to worry about that, but with so much code being changed and torn apart there is a good chance new bugs are being introduced. Hopefully most of them will be found and fixed before it even gets to the beta stage, and the rest before release.
But don't you panic. We're working very hard to create the best program we can, and as quickly as possible.
