Are you trying to select from a network directory or a normal directory?

Also, what operating system are you using?

What is the source directory string you've entered?

Thanks

- OS: Windows 98 SE
- Browsing to network directory

Also, isn't it really impossible to implement automated login into password protected network share in Windows 98 ?

Windows 98 uses your login username and password to access network shares. Blame Microsoft for this :)

To recap, the source is a network share and when you enter the path and exit the source edit box, it causes an access violation?

Using Windows ME (I don't have Win98) I cannot reproduce this error. Even so, I've changed the code to try and catch and avoid this from happending. It will be in the next beta.

Version 4 of the beta has just been released. Does it fix your problem? See http://www.mjleaver.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=88 for more information.

Thanks

Now pressing "Browse" button does not cause an error, but when exiting SyncBack (When closin the program), there is an error that persists from the previous betas:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"This Program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"

Details>>

SYNCBACK caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:00000000.

And when trying to close this error message window by pressing button "Close" it does not close, instead, another error message emerges: "Runtime error 216 at 0048588C"

Interesting. Can you test it on another Windows 98 machine, or better yet, does anyone else using Windows 98 have this same problem?

I cannot reproduce this error on Windows Me and I don't have access to any Windows 98 machines.

I'v tried it on 3 Win98 SE machines and the problem remains - when exiting SyncBack it causes above mentioned error. It persist since first SyncBack V3. Sorry I didn't mentioned it before, but till "beta 4" this problem (in Win98 SE) was "shadowed" by the error caused when browsing to network shares.

Good news: I've found a Windows 98 machine to test on. I will post more information after I've tested it. Thanks.

Even better news - I've found and fixed it  The fix will be in the next beta release.

The access violation only occurs if you click the browse button. To avoid this problem until the next beta you can type in the path names directly.

Thanks
