FindOnClick

Postby compfet » Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:22 pm

If I am correct, I can use FindOnClick to search files for the MD5 hash. I tried to locate a hash number in the Registry and it was not found; I think that means it will NOT be found on my system. But I ran FindOnClick just to check. The only problem was that all the MD5 hash numbers in FOC were listed with capital letters. The hash number I needed to find listed was all lowercase letters and only 1 upper case letter. Please correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't there be lowercase letters, too. :?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're doing, but I don't think that FindOnClick will search for MD5 hashes (particularly not in the registry).

What it will do is calculate the MD5 hashes of files it has found as well as use MD5 hashes to detect when files have identical content.
