No network and external drives

I just tried out FindOnClick tool as I'm real big fan of the BackSync tool (I'm not a fan of Google Desktop and others). I like my software fast simple and excellent in what they do. At the moment my nr 1 search tool I use is the DOS command "dir c:\*.txt /s" and I would be more than happy to replace it with something better.

The search is really fast however it seems to only work on an internal Disk drive. It tried it on a network drive, external HD and USB key and always received invalid drive. This for me is a reason not to buy at this time as most of the files I work with are located on servers or external disk. I Understand that maybe you cannot achieve the same speed on these devices but maybe it's an option to fall back to just scanning the drive as the windows search does it..

Another (smaller) thing I noticed is the following. I assigned a Windows Shortcut key so I could call it up with my Keyboard. The program opens but the focus is then set on the "OK" -button. I almost never want to look for all my files bud always a subset. I would make more sense to me that the search box would get focus so I can start typing my query, hit ENTER and off we go....

Hi, it does not work with network drives because it needs to read directly from the disk. That's not possible over a network. You cannot use UNC paths. We'll look at reverting to the standard slow method in this case in the next version.

It does work on external hard drives and USB keys. Are you sure they're physically connected and are NTFS or FAT format? It probably won't work with a NAS device.

You are right it works on external drives but something is not right... I tried a network drive first and it gave me "invalid drive".. I then typed in the drive letter of my external disk and it still gave me "Invalid drive".. When I then click on Browse and chose my drive it worked...

Hi, I thought that may have been the problem and tried it myself, but the pop-up didn't appear for me. For example, if I type \\server\share\ but then changed it to J: the pop-up disappeared. If you can give me an example of reproducing it I'll certainly fix that.
