Footer affecting new topic header

Postby matt586 » Wed Jan 13, 2010 12:50 pm

When I open a new topic I see a standard text showing the date and time. If I now select that I can overtype this and add new title to the document. That is until I turn on footers... When I do this then this seems to make this standard text behave differently and when I try and paste over it it now formats the text into a narrow table cell going down the page.

I'm sure I could find a way to turn of the default text for a new topic but my question is - why should having the footer on or off make a difference to the paste operation?

I can't answer the question directly but would suggest you turn off the date/time stamp (Settings>Workspace preferences>Program options then uncheck "Enable Informational Stamp") because overtyping it might conceivably be linked to your problem.

I hope this helps - and am sorry it's not a direct answer to your question.

Hi Matty C,

We would be happy to investigate this issue further if you would like to
submit a support ticket at:

http://www.2brightsparks.com/help/index.php?pf=usr

There's an article that explains the support ticket sign-up process at:

http://www.2brightsparks.com/help/index ... article=15

Our online ticketing system ensures that support requests are logged and
tracked properly. A record is kept of each support request for both the
user and our staff to view. This results in more effective
communication, and a faster resolution to issues.

Thank you once again for your interest in our software

Stephen, Thanks again for the advice. Turning off the new page auto text has indeed solved the problem.

I'll go with this setting to avoid any issues

Thanks again for your help
