Deleteonclick vs win7 64bit?
Hello!
I installed a new Windows: Win7 64bit.
Deleteonclick isn't Win7 64bit compatible?
I can't run it!
Thanks

Hi
It doesn't work with any 64-bit OS, and neither does HashIOnClick, except as shown in the following article, which also explains why

That's why the product pages for both DOC & HOC specifically mention 32-bit

64-bit Windows is here NOW. And is here to STAY. I'm not a great fan of M$. However, if I had a commercial software product like the OnClick series, I would bite the bullet, and port to 64-bit with M$ C++ and Visual Studio.

Since a 64-bit version of DeleteOnClick may or may not ever happen, does anyone have recommendations for alternatives?

I'm a bit disappointed that I bought the onClick utilities as it was mainly as an afterthought during the purchase of SyncbackSE, and I liked the idea of easily wiping free space on my drives so paid the extra tenner for the lot. I suppose I should have read all of the FAQs first, but as the offer appears during the purchase process there isn't really enough time to do it without cancelling the purchase and doing it later, and who want's to do that when buying software?
Anyway - it's no biggy really, Dave's IE workaround isn't too bad, and the wipe free space works with just a couple of extra steps, but to answer DancesWithBikers question regarding a 64bit alternative, there is one built into CCleaner by Piriform which additionally give options on the number of overwrites (how securely files/space is deleted). It's free software too, but doesn't have any of the other great functions of the onClick suite.

There are some other workaround possibilities (apart from via IE, which was MickyJ's not mine
), as shown here
