The Dreaded Daylight Savings Time Problem
I've been evaluating the freeware version of SyncBack (3.2.26) since around December of last year. So far I'm pretty happy with the product and am 95% sure I will purchase one of the SyncBack commercial versions soon (you probably hear that all the time but being an independent software vendor myself, I understand what it takes and try to support worthwhile software when I can). OK, on to the reason for my post.
After reading through multiple forum topics, I now understand that determining when a file has changed based on the file modification timestamp is a PITA (way to go MS). My SyncBack version seems to do a great job at correctly determining whether the date/time change is due to daylight savings time difference or not EXCEPT when comparing against files saved in a ZIP file (mine happens to be password protected, not sure if that makes a difference or not). Yes, I have the setting checked to ignore differences due to DST and set ignore changes of +/- 2 seconds. The ignore DST setting doesn't seem to work in this case.
Am I missing something? Can anyone confirm this to be a bug in the freeware version? Can anyone confirm that the commercial versions do not suffer from this problem?
Thanks in advance!

Re: The Dreaded Daylight Savings Time Problem
As it says 'above the door' of this forum
"SyncBack freeware is not an evaluation version of SyncBackSE or SyncBackPro!"
Why not simply try them? Free 30-day trials are available

The differences are here

Do not uninstall the freeware or you will defeat the auto-profile import feature. SE imports from the freeware, Pro from SE, so if you want to try both - see below - install in the obvious order. If you only want to try Pro, you can uninstall SE afterwards. There is no automated process of importing profiles into Pro from the freeware.
The SE & Pro versions can be installed in parallel with the freeware and/or each other. Do not install any 'model' to the same folder as another (just accept the default folders for an easy life). The SE & Pro versions will uninstall cleanly if you decide not to purchase. If you do decide to purchase, the serial number will unlock whichever version you decide to license. There is no need to uninstall the 'trial' and download a 'registered' version. Entering the serial number converts the former to the latter. Any version you decide not to keep will uninstall without affecting the version you do keep (if any).
(Note: any auto-profile import will not include the Schedules (to avoid double-triggering). If you want to switch your Scheduled profiles over, you need to delete the Schedules from the version where they were created and re-create them from the version where you want them)
