Copy only only files that don't exists in destination

Postby papio » Sat Apr 21, 2012 9:07 pm

I need to do this

1. Files only in source are copied to destination
2. Files only in destination are deleted
3. Skip if files exists in destination. I don't ever want to copy it, regardless of date being newer or older.
4. I know this is really basic, I just can't seem to get it configured properly.

Thanks

Option 2 and 3 are mutually exclusive. You cannot both skip a destination only file and also delete it, so I assume you mean you want to delete destination only files:

- Modify the profile
- Choose "Backup the source directories files, including all its sub-directories"
- Go to the Advanced settings tab
- Choose "Source overwrites destination always", "Copy file to destination", "Delete file from destination"

Hi

Checking forum ports after return from brief holiday, I think my colleague misunderstood your point-3. If you want to suppress re-copying of a file that exists on both sides (Source & Destination), even if the date/time is now different or the size is now different, simply go to the

Modify > Expert > Compare Options

tab and check the options to ignore date/time differences, and ignore size differences. Then set the options to delete Destination-only files as he already suggested.

This will mean files will only be copied from Source if they do not exist on Destination at all. Changes to Source files afterwards will not be backed up.
