Network Question
Hi,
Great program, i am just unsure of a few things... Does a user have to be logged in for it to work properly? I have had success on one machine not being logged in and it completing. I don't know why my other one will not work. I am using W2k with a domain. Does the password for the network share need to be the same as the one entered into the task scheduler? Right now i have the task scheduled to run at system startup and at 6:30 pm daily. Are there any special permissions I need to use? Is there anyway to have the log file be written to if the task doesn't complete successfully? I have scoured my event logs without much success. Thank You and keep up the good work!

If your username is a domain username, e.g. DOMAIN\USERNAME, then use the password for that user in the domain. If you just use USERNAME then its a username for the local computer. Sorry, but Microsoft Windows networking is a total nightmare and has all sorts of quirks depending on if you are in a workgroup, a domain, a local machine, using Windows XP home or 98, etc. Just use the same username and password that you used to connect to the network share in Windows. Please, no questions about Windows networking
I did a test on Win2K and SyncBack ran while I was not logged in. Did you check the Windows Scheduler to see if it actually ran? Using the correct username and password in the scheduler?
For the log file, I will make a change so that it does record the error. At the moment no log file is produced (or appended onto) until files actually start being copied.
Thanks
